Câu điều kiện loại 1 unless là gì? Cách dùng, ví dụ

Câu điều kiện loại 1 unless là gì?

Trong câu điều kiện loại 1, “unless” được dùng để nói về một tình huống có thể xảy ra trong tương lai, nếu điều kiện nào đó không được đáp ứng.

Hiểu đơn giản, “unless” có nghĩa là “nếu không” hoặc “trừ khi”. Nó tương đương với “if not” trong câu điều kiện.

Ví dụ: You will fail the test unless you study. (Bạn sẽ trượt bài kiểm tra nếu không học bài.)

Cấu trúc của câu điều kiện loại 1 unless

Cấu trúc 1: 

Unless + Mệnh đề điều kiện (thì hiện tại đơn), Mệnh đề kết quả (thì tương lai đơn)

Unless + S + V (hiện tại đơn), S + will + V (nguyên mẫu)

Ví dụ: Unless she studies, she will fail the exam.

Cấu trúc 2: 

Mệnh đề kết quả (thì tương lai đơn), unless + Mệnh đề điều kiện (thì hiện tại đơn)

S + will + V (nguyên mẫu), unless + S + V (hiện tại đơn)

Ví dụ: She will fail the exam unless she studies.

Các lưu ý về ngữ pháp câu điều kiện loại 1

Với câu điều kiện loại 1 unless đứng ở đầu câu, bạn cần thêm dấu phẩy (,) để ngăn cách giữa mệnh đề điều kiện và mệnh đề kết quả.

• Unless you hurry, you’ll miss the bus.

“Unless” mang nghĩa phủ định (giống với “if not”), nên không cần dùng thêm “not” trong mệnh đề điều kiện.

• Unless you study, you’ll fail.
