Cấu trúc đảo ngữ câu điều kiện loại 3

Mặc dù câu điều kiện loại 3 được xem là dạng khó nhất trong các loại câu điều kiện, nhưng dạng đảo ngữ câu điều kiện loại 3 lại rất dễ áp dụng. Ở cấu trúc này, bạn không cần thêm bất kỳ trợ động từ nào khác, chỉ cần đảo “had” lên đầu câu là hoàn chỉnh. Dạng đảo ngữ này thường được sử dụng để diễn đạt lời khuyên hoặc lời nhận xét một cách lịch sự, tinh tế hơn.

Đảo ngữ câu điều kiện loại 3 với động từ to be

Cấu trúc:

Had + S + (not) + been +… + S + would/might/could + have + P2

Ví dụ:

• If she had been more careful, she wouldn’t have made that mistake.
  Had she been more careful, she wouldn’t have made that mistake. (Nếu cô ấy cẩn thận hơn, cô ấy đã không phạm sai lầm đó.)
• If they had not been so tired, they could have finished the report.
  Had they not been so tired, they could have finished the report. (Nếu họ không quá mệt, họ đã có thể hoàn thành bản báo cáo.)
• If it had been warmer, we might have gone for a swim.
  Had it been warmer, we might have gone for a swim. (Nếu trời ấm hơn, có lẽ chúng tôi đã đi bơi.)

Đảo ngữ với động từ thường

Cấu trúc:

Had + S + (not) + P2 +… + S + would/might/could + have + P2

Ví dụ:

• If I had known your number, I would have called you.
  Had I known your number, I would have called you. (Nếu tôi biết số của bạn, tôi đã gọi cho bạn rồi.)
• If they had arrived earlier, they would have met the manager.
  Had they arrived earlier, they would have met the manager. (Nếu họ đến sớm hơn, họ đã gặp được giám đốc.)
• If he had not missed the flight, he would have joined the meeting.
  Had he not missed the flight, he would have joined the meeting. (Nếu anh ấy không lỡ chuyến bay, anh ấy đã tham dự cuộc họp.)

1. If he had known the truth, he would have acted differently.
2. If I had studied harder, I would have passed the test.
3. If they had left earlier, they wouldn’t have missed the train.
4. If she had called me, I would have gone to meet her.
5. If you had reminded me, I wouldn’t have forgotten the meeting.
6. If it had rained, the match would have been canceled.
7. If we had seen him, we would have told him the news.
8. If Tom had been careful, he wouldn’t have made that mistake.

10. If the teacher had arrived on time, class would have started earlier.

7. Had I __________ (know) it was your birthday, I’d have bought a gift.
8. Had the team __________ (practice) harder, they could have won.
9. Had he __________ (follow) the map, he wouldn’t have got lost.

8. It rained heavily → The event was canceled.
