Tổng quan về đề thi speaking VSTEP B2

Kỹ năng Nói đóng vai trò quan trọng trong đề thi VSTEP B2 vì phản ánh năng lực sử dụng tiếng Anh của thí sinh trong giao tiếp thực tế. Phần thi này thuộc kỳ thi đánh giá năng lực ngoại ngữ theo Khung năng lực 6 bậc dùng cho Việt Nam, hướng tới đo lường khả năng diễn đạt, phản xạ và trình bày quan điểm ở trình độ trung cấp cao (B2). 

• Thời gian làm bài: khoảng 12 phút cho mỗi thí sinh
• Bố cục: 3 phần thi liên tiếp, độ khó tăng dần theo từng phần

Cụ thể 03 phần như sau:

• Phần 1 – Giao tiếp xã hội (khoảng 3 phút): Thí sinh trả lời từ 3-6 câu hỏi xoay quanh 2 chủ đề quen thuộc trong đời sống. Phần này đánh giá khả năng phản xạ nhanh, trả lời đúng trọng tâm và duy trì hội thoại tự nhiên.
• Phần 2 – Thảo luận giải pháp (khoảng 4 phút): Thí sinh được đưa ra một tình huống kèm các lựa chọn, nhiệm vụ là chọn một giải pháp và phân tích ưu, nhược điểm. Đây là phần kiểm tra tư duy logic, khả năng so sánh và lập luận mạch lạc.
• Phần 3 – Phát triển chủ đề (khoảng 5 phút): Thí sinh trình bày quan điểm cá nhân dựa trên 3 gợi ý cho sẵn hoặc ý kiến riêng. Phần này yêu cầu khả năng nói dài, có cấu trúc rõ ràng và thể hiện quan điểm nhất quán.

Giám khảo sẽ chấm điểm dựa trên 4 tiêu chí chính, mỗi tiêu chí tối đa 2.5 điểm, tổng điểm tối đa là 10:

• Độ trôi chảy và mạch lạc: Thí sinh cần nói liền mạch, hạn chế ngập ngừng và biết liên kết ý hợp lý. Ở mức B2, câu trả lời cần có lập luận rõ ràng, thay vì từng câu ngắn rời rạc.
• Vốn từ vựng sử dụng: Từ vựng cần đa dạng, đúng ngữ cảnh. Khả năng diễn đạt lại ý
• Ngữ pháp và độ chính xác: Giám khảo chú trọng khả năng sử dụng câu phức, các thì cơ bản, câu điều kiện, bị động và mệnh đề quan hệ. Lỗi nhỏ có thể chấp nhận nếu không ảnh hưởng đến việc hiểu nội dung.
• Phát âm và ngữ điệu: Phát âm rõ ràng, ngữ điệu tự nhiên, dễ nghe. Không yêu cầu giống người bản ngữ, nhưng không được gây cản trở giao tiếp.

Sample 1 – Part 1: Social Interaction

Topic: Daily routine and free time

Question:

What do you usually do in your free time? Why do you enjoy it?

Answer:

In my free time, I usually read books and watch short educational videos online. I prefer activities that help me relax but also allow me to learn something new. Reading books helps me improve my concentration and expand my vocabulary, while videos are useful when I do not have much time.

Besides that, I sometimes go out with close friends at the weekend to reduce stress after a busy working week. These activities help me maintain a good balance between work and personal life, which I think is very important for my mental health.

Sample 2 – Part 2: Solution Discussion

Topic: Work & Career

Situation

Your friend is thinking about changing jobs because of work pressure.

Question:

Discuss possible solutions and decide which is the best option.

Answer:

There are several solutions to this problem. First, my friend could talk to his manager to discuss workload and working conditions. In some cases, better communication can help reduce pressure.

Another option is improving time management skills, such as setting priorities or taking short breaks during work. This solution is practical and does not require changing jobs immediately.

However, if the pressure seriously affects his health, I think changing to a new job with a better working environment would be the best choice. Although it is risky, mental health should be a top priority.

Sample 3 – Part 3: Topic Development

Topic: Technology

Question:

Technology has changed the way people communicate. Do you think this is a positive or negative development?

Answer:

I believe technology has had a mainly positive impact on communication. Thanks to smartphones and social media, people can stay in touch easily, even when they live far away. This is especially helpful for families and friends who do not meet often.

However, technology also has some drawbacks. Many people spend too much time on their phones and pay less attention to face-to-face communication. As a result, relationships can become less personal.

In my opinion, technology itself is not the problem. The key issue is how people use it. If we use technology wisely and limit screen time, it can greatly improve the quality of communication in modern society.

Lỗi khiến thí sinh mất điểm speaking VSTEP B2

Rất nhiều thí sinh có nền tảng từ vựng, ngữ pháp ổn nhưng vẫn mất điểm vì những lỗi tưởng nhỏ mà lại ảnh hưởng trực tiếp đến tiêu chí chấm. Dưới đây là các sai lầm phổ biến mà bạn cần tránh nếu muốn nắm chắc trong tay điểm Speaking:

• Trình bày thiếu trọng tâm: Nói nhiều nhưng không bám sát câu hỏi, ý chính không nổi bật. Giám khảo sẽ đánh giá cao khả năng chọn lọc ý và phát triển đúng hướng hơn là độ dài.
• Phụ thuộc vào bài mẫu: Việc nói giống như đang đọc lại một bài đã học sẵn khiến phần thi thiếu tự nhiên, dễ lạc đề khi câu hỏi thay đổi. Điều này làm giảm điểm rõ rệt.

• Lạm dụng từ vựng nâng cao không kiểm soát: Dùng từ khó sai ngữ cảnh hoặc phát âm không chắc khiến bài nói kém tự nhiên, thậm chí gây hiểu nhầm ý.
• Phát âm sai nhưng không tự điều chỉnh: Giám khảo đánh giá cao khả năng tự sửa lỗi. Do đó, việc lặp lại lỗi phát âm mà không nhận ra cho thấy thí sinh thiếu kiểm soát kỹ năng nói.
